As a **Team Leader **you will lead and co-ordinate the quality team in the Paint Plant driving back defects and ensuring the customer receives a defect free product.

**Responsibilities**:

- Continually monitor and audit Health and Safety, People, Quality, Velocity and Cost metrics within your span of control as per Caterpillar Production System (CPS) guidelines meeting targets
- Reinforce Caterpillar's Values in Action. communicate to appropriate departments/personnel and at daily start of shift meetings
- Record defect information in detail to the quality gate visual management boards/ management systems
- Clearly communicate defects to Paint Operations and support area personnel as defects are identified
- Provide detailed quality feedback with quality alerts and quality meetings
- Participate in defect investigations and component inspection as required
- Standard Work / Training - Maintain the skills matrix for the team to 100% versatility, ensure standard work is updated.
- Participate in Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIWs) for Safety, Quality, Velocity and Cost within your team operation.
- Lead the team to meet the daily demand of the job and root cause analyse events leading to process failure.
- Generate and work on Continuous Improvement ideas for your assigned area using the Continuous Improvement (CI) process
- Adhere to the Company's Health and Safety policy and safe working practices and reporting appropriately.
- Undertake training and further learning as required for the job and the BCP (Building Construction Products) Safety Recipe.
- Maintain leadership development required learning.

**Required qualifications**:

- Experience of CPS processes to reduce/eliminate cost.
- Experience of the BIQ (Built in Quality) process, reporting defects, root cause analysis.
- Identify with Caterpillar's belief in the value of continuous improvement and a team-based culture
- Possess a good understanding of paint practices and knowledge of paint related 1Especs
- As a team member the ability to work closely with others is imperative, requiring team participation to achieve the agreed objectives
- A self-motivated individual, with the flexibility to deal with individual and team behaviours, you should be able to motivate others with your advice and experience
- Initiative and strong communication, interpersonal and organization skills
- Must be flexible and support with extra hours if required
- Willing to work on a multi shift pattern
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to work through quality issues in a methodical manner
- Previous supervisory experience desirable

**Salary**:starting salary £31,000 rising to £34,400 once role triggers are met + Shift Allowance

**Contract**: Permanent
