Children's Residential Support Worker

Smart Recruit Group are looking for Childrens Support Workers who are looking for a new and exciting permanent role with our Client based in the Newcastle and Gateshead Areas. Our client is a leading care provider to children and young adults with Learning Difficulties. This company is a strong supporter of employee progression and are looking for individuals who are keen to progress towards a level 4 in children and young people.
Do you have a desire to support children with additional needs? This role requires the supervision of children and younger persons who have complex care needs in both school and residential environments.
Shift patterns can be 35 hours a week with 2 shifts 7am-11pm and 3 shifts the week after, Sleep shifts are also available and shared out among staff.
- Experience working with Learning Disability in a supported living setting or in a home care setting
- Good organisational and management skills
- Understanding of complex needs
- Experience in moving and handling
Those interested in the role will also need to have a DBS on the update service - or be wiling to pay for DBS

**Duties**:
- Provide support and assistance to individuals with disabilities or special needs
- Assisting with daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management
- Helping individuals participate in community activities and social events
- Supporting individuals in developing and maintaining independent living skills
- Document and report any changes in behavior or health status to the appropriate person
- Collaborate with a team of professionals to create and implement individualized care plans

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and empathy when working with individuals with disabilities or special needs
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of individuals
