**The job**
As Effluent and Yard Operator you ensure the safe, efficient and effective operation of the site Effluent Treatment Plant, Waste control and traffic areas.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
**SHE**:

- You comply with SHE procedures, policies and regulations at all time and raise any SHE-related concerns with Line Managers and documents into the Site "Near Miss" reporting tool.
- You ensure a safe and correct operation of Effluent Plant, FLT & Tele-Handler and cleaning equipment.
- You promote high standards through personal example and fully understands the standards and behaviours expected of them and link own actions and behaviour to the Company Values and actively encourages others to do likewise.
- You communicate with and supports key stakeholders (both on & off-site) as required
- You comply with the Site Cleaning & Hygiene Plan
- Take water samples and dispatches as per schedule
- Liaise with the Roaster and the Supply Chain Supervisors to ensure CHIT is delivered when requested
- Undertake basic administrative tasks as required
- Operates the Effluent Plant & equipment as per Work Instructions and Manuals
- Promptly reports any plant / equipment breakdowns or failures to Line Manager
- Ensures accuracy of Plant documentation and appropriate filing
- Takes water samples, labels and dispatches for off-site Lab testing as per schedule
- Maintains Plant & grounds housekeeping to agreed standards

**Banksman Duties**:

- Directing the movement of vehicles on site
- Communicating with drivers and plant operators verbally and by radio and/or industry standard hand signals
- Understanding risks (e.g. blind spots) and how to manage these effectively
- Minimising possible risks to personnel and equipment

**General Yard & Waste Control Duties**:

- Maintain Site Waste Management Areas to agreed standards, ensuring waste streams are adhered to
- Undertakes general cleaning of external areas on site inc. general garden-type low level maintenance (e.g. grass cutting) and external building maintenance (e.g. painting of doors, erecting signage etc.)
- Liaise with Waste collection providers as/when required to ensure collections are made and required documentation is prepared, completed and stored accurately

**Who you are**:

- Experience of operating FLT, Tele-handler & process equipment or prepared to undertake appropriate training
- Secondary education GCSEs grades A - C.
- Counterbalance FLT & Tele-handler Licences
- Banksman/Signaller
- Competent knowledge and use of Microsoft Office products or prepared to undertake training
