**Job overview**:
We are delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work within one of the most exciting, Innovative Podiatry Departments in the country. Salford Care Organisation which is part of the Northern Care Alliance has outstanding CQC status and covers both acute and community sites and has an SLA with Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Trust. We have a NICE compliant MDT and excellent relations with support services in the hospital, in particular Microbiology, Orthopaedics, Vascular and Radiology.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Podiatrist to provide development and leadership in the provision of a high-quality integrated acute and community service. Research is a large part of this role and you will be actively involved in providing ongoing education and training to a wide range of staff.

Our Podiatry Department has a strong, enthusiastic and dedicated team of clinicians whose work ethic is exemplary. We are committed to excellent patient care and as a busy inner-city hospital, we see a varied and unique mix of patients who have very complex needs.
**Main duties of the job**:
- To take a lead role and to provide expert clinical practice in the management of the most highly complex caseload of patients
- To lead and strategically develop the high risk Podiatry service across Salford Care Organisation
- Be a role model and provide clinical leadership/expertise to the Podiatry service
- To undertake a significant clinical caseload to a high professional standard
- To be actively involved in providing on-going education and training
- To be at the forefront of developing practice through promoting an evidence-based culture
- To take a lead in research activities, audit and evaluation of clinical practice in relation to the management of high-risk podiatry
- To offer advice on the future strategic planning and development of Podiatry services in the wider context of service redesign across the Northern Care Alliance
- To support the team of MDT consultants in providing clinical leadership for the team.

**Essential criteria**:
- Degree or equivalent in qualification in Podiatric Medicine
- Independent prescribing.
- Masters level degree or equivalent training/experience
**Desirable criteria**:
- PhD in relevant clinical area
- Leadership Qualification
- Extended clinical course in relevant clinical area
**Knowledge & Experience**:
**Essential criteria**:
- Substantial relevant post-graduate experience in managing the High-Risk foot at a senior level
- Experience of hospital-based management of High-Risk complex patients
- Ability to carry out, analyse and interpret results of various assessments to a high level
- Experience of leadership in service improvement or quality initiatives
- Ability to effectively implement change, and manage staff through changes to clinical practice
**Desirable criteria**:
- Knowledge and experience in writing research protocols
- Experience of role as a Chief Investigator and Principal Investigator of Clinical Trials
- Experience of Teaching and Mentoring in clinical settings
- Evidence of developing standards, guidelines, policies and protocols.
