As the **I**ndustry Leader**, Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the development and manufacture of electrodes and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. The site, and it’s Statistics team, has been instrumental in the research, development and manufacture of the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System and continues to work on a strong pipeline of products in development. We are passionate about doing work that improves the quality of people’s lives. Joining us, you can do work that truly matters.

We currently have opportunities for a **Statistician** to join our team This could be based from our Medical Devices Centre of Excellence in Witney, Oxfordshire, or from our Maidenhead office.

Unlike traditional pharma or CRO work, with Abbott Diabetes Care, you would be involved in **end-to-end clinical trials** for a small number of **global projects** that typically last from 4 to 18 months. From supporting **protocol development** through to **preparing publications**, you will see the impact of your work as we continue to support the growth of our FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose testing system in new markets, or for new patient populations. In addition, you will be providing key statistical support alongside scientists and engineers to the **development of our pipeline products**.

In this role, you would be joining a vibrant, friendly and diverse group, and can expect to work across a varied range of projects and statistical techniques. Our teams collaborate to form a network of Statistics professionals, and offer members the opportunity to share best practices, leverage insights and skill-sharing, and build personal career expertise and professional development. Further professional and/or academic accreditations/certifications can also be supported.

You will need to have good oral and written communication skills to be able to collaborate with different people within the department, prepare reports, interpret results, and provide effective summaries for specialist and non-specialist audiences. You must be organised and flexible in your approach to work, with good attention to detail in order to ensure that data and analyses are accurate. Industry based experience is required, and programming skills in SAS would be advantageous.

Abbott has health/wellness and financial benefits that help provide security for you and your family. As you’d expect from an innovative global health care company, we offer excellent salaries and a competitive range of benefits including a defined-contribution pension scheme, share ownership scheme, private healthcare, life assurance, and a flexible benefits scheme. Here at Witney, we also like to help our employees live life to the fullest, and therefore we offer a range of optional initiatives for you to get involved in, including onsite allotments, couch to 5k campaigns, bee keeping, yoga and more
