Trainee Machinist

Trainee Machinist (x 2) Blaenavon South Wales 37 Hours - 2 Shift
Principle Accountabilities:

- Gain an understanding of how the machine shop operates
- Learn how to operate manual vertical turning machines and both vertical and horizontal CNC machines alongside a trained production operator
- Learn how to use measuring equipment
- Learn how to set rings concentric with and without the aid of a dial test indicator
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure a conforming product is produced to the customer specification
- Record on a daily basis the sizes of parts received from forge
- Maintain working environment to expected levels of housekeeping and organisation at all times.
- Undertake other tasks within capabilities, in any department across the business, as requested by the Manager / Supervisor
- Willingness to learn and follow instruction
- High self-motivation and determination to succeed
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
- Good interpersonal skills, particularly team working
- Excellent time management
- Excellent attention to detail along with good verbal and written communication
