**Internal Communications Campaigns Officer**

Can be based at any of our main centres Barnsley, Birmingham, Bristol Filton, Colindale, Tooting and Manchester.

Hybrid working is available.

**Job Summary**

NHS Blood and Transplant is a Special Health Authority, dedicated to saving and improving lives through a wide range of services to the NHS. We help people do something extraordinary - donate blood, organs, tissues, or stem cells to save someone in need.

Through our communications we support colleagues across the country, working in a wide range of roles.

In this role you will develop internal communications campaigns, content and channels to connect colleagues to NHSBT’s vision, values and priorities. You’ll be focusing on:

- Engaging colleagues with the latest organisational news, information and campaigns.
- Supporting internal communications campaigns and channel development activity.
- Developing timely and creative content.
- Using audience insight to make sure we are reaching our dispersed and mobile workforce with our internal communications.
- Working with the wider Communications team and senior leaders to give internal communications advice.

**Main duties of the job**

In this role you will be required to use the right channels and messaging to communicate with and engage staff in corporate news, information, and campaigns. Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing individual campaigns and channels that connect colleagues to NHSBT’s vision, values and strategy so that they can be our best advocates.
- Creating insight led content such as videos, Q&As and briefings for internal use.
- Working with the wider Communications team and senior leaders to provide strategic advice.
- Delivering timely, meaningful and engaging communication with more than 6,000 staff across the organisation.
- Providing the opportunity to develop general skills as an IC professional by working across multiple projects and campaigns.

You will occasionally be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice.

**About You**

**Experience and Knowledge**
- Demonstrable experience of producing high quality communications plans
- Advanced keyboard skills with ability to deliver extremely high levels of accuracy
- Experience of developing and delivering internal communications programmes using a wide range of channels and media.
- Understanding of and respect for donor/patient confidentiality
- Demonstrable specialist knowledge of marketing and use of social media
- Knowledge and experience of techniques and systems for evaluating the effectiveness of internal communications.
- Experience of working with information technology using Microsoft Office packages (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint)

**Qualifications and Training**
- Knowledge and experience of the techniques and systems for evaluating Corporate Communications activity
- Degree in marketing/communication or equivalent experience to degree level
- Demonstrates commitment to own continued professional development (CPD)
