Responsible for the day to day coordination of prescription management within the surgery. The post holder will, at all times, lead by example by being courteous, professional, non-judgemental, positive and friendly to all service users, both in person and by telephone. The post holder will work as part of the Pharmacy Team, working directly with the Clinical Pharmacist to ensure the efficient processing of prescription requests. They will lead on the implementation of Repeat Dispensing program within the surgery, ensuring that it is done in a safe and appropriate manner, and within the limitations of their role.

Problem-solving on a day to day basis around issues relating to your work, you will also enjoy working closely as a team to achieve objectives and ensure that your prescription workload is managed in a timely manner. The role will include ensuring patients on certain medication have the relevant drug monitoring in place, this will involve identifying required tests, booking in patients for the relevant appointment and setting up scheduled tasks for future recalls.
- Process and manage prescription requests
- To develop effective processes to monitor and manage back log of prescriptions
- Issue prescriptions and deal with script queries from these
- Direct queries to the appropriate clinician
- Respond to individual problems raised by patients
- Action practice tasks related to script and medication requests/queries in a timely manner
- Liaise with community pharmacy teams
- Liaise with Care Homes to ensure an efficient prescription process
- Ensure that repeat medication is issued in line with surgery protocol and policy
- Deal with patient enquiries that are referred to you by the reception team
- Work closely as part of the surgery Pharmacy Team to ensure timely response to prescription requests
- Manage patients who are appropriate for Repeat Dispensing
- Support the Reception manager in training new staff in Prescription Management
- Work confidently with SystmOne and train staff in its use
- To ensure that all surgery staff are updated with relevant changes to policy and procedure
- Communicate with the Pharmacy team on a daily basis
- Represent the Pharmacy team at Practice and Clinical Meetings
- Liaise with external health care professionals who work within the building
- Any other duties as deemed necessary by the Practice Manager

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: £10.90 per hour
