Associate Postgraduate Dean

The APD is professionally and managerially accountable to the local Postgraduate Dean, supporting them in embracing corporate, statutory and non-statutory functions, aligning with the HEE mandate.
The exact portfolio of the role will be agreed in collaboration with the successful postholder(s).
The postholder will also be expected to have significant experience of clinical and educational leadership and a track record of delivery in education and service. Demonstrable strong leadership skills with an ability to influence and motivate others in a politically sensitive environment are essential. They will also need to be flexible to provide cross-cover for colleagues in addition to deputising for the Postgraduate Dean where required.
This role will require an understanding of healthcare/multi-professional workforce matters and experience of working with learners in an educational context. In addition to the main portfolio, the postholder will have to undertake Associate Dean duties such as leading appeals, participating in ARCPs and other areas of programme management for trainee doctors, working with the Education Programme Management team in Wessex.
