**The role**

**Responsibilities**:

- Administer and maintain the organisation’s IT infrastructure, including servers, storage systems and virtualised environments.
- Work closely with other IT teams to deliver integrated solutions and contribute to the successful implementation of IT projects.
- Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and hardware replacements in accordance with best practices and mínimal disruption.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve potential issues to ensure optimal system functionality.
- Manage the day-to-day workloads of Senior ICT Technical Engineers
- Provide technical and strategical advice to management and business area leaders.

**Requirements**:

- Qualified to Degree level or related equivalent qualification in Information Technology or be able to demonstrate relevant experience.
- Experience of Windows Server Operating Systems, Microsoft Azure, SCCM, Microsoft Intune and other management tools
- Proven experience of Strategic IT Planning in the context of a formal project.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Be able demonstrate previous experience of staff supervision.
- A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills enabling complex information to be effectively communicated to diverse audiences.

**Where you’ll fit in**:
The ICT Device & Systems Specialist sits within the ICT department’s Technical Delivery section and reports to the ICT Platforms Manager.

Our Information and Communications Technology Department (ICT) has a wide and varied range of responsibilities from 1st line service desk, 2nd line technical support to 3rd line specialist technical architect/design. ICT are also responsible for IT Security management, Service Management, Business Support and Project Management that maintain and continuously improve critical services, software, platforms, and hardware required throughout the full IT lifecycle. This underpins the delivery of secure and timely 24/7 operations for approximately 10,000 users across 100 geographical locations supporting over 20,000 computers including multiple datacentres together with the underlying network and physical and virtual (including cloud services) IT infrastructure.
