Job Description:
About the position

Our Genie Distribution Centre at South Witham performs a range of functions that include order planning, goods receiving, inbound inspections, reconfiguration of machines and shipping. Reconfiguration includes adding various options to the machines. As a Distribution Centre Operative, you will be responsible for daily tasks to ensure the smooth running of the yard and work issued by the Distribution Centre Supervisor/Manager. This includes loading/unloading containers and HGVs, pre-use inspection of forklifts and other equipment where required, charging of MEWPs and preparation of machine collections. You will also be responsible for general housekeeping of the yard area, maintenance and inspection of hand tools needed to support the job.

Distribution Centre Operative main tasks
- Loading/unloading containers and HGV trucks and preparation for next day collections
- Cleaning of machines for inbound inspection and machines awaiting customer collection
- Supply machines to the workshop and move out machines that are ready to the collection area
- Carrying out pre-use and some maintenance inspections of forklifts, mobile generators, and other equipment
- Rotation of stock in the yard in preparation for inbound deliveries
- Ensure rotate charging of machines is completed to ensure highest quality standards
- Carry out inbound inspections on machines and report any damage using our bespoke online app
- General housekeeping of the yard and immediate work areas

Skills/Education/Qualifications
- Forklift operation license/experience required (support will be given)
- Flexible and disciplined, with strong teamwork orientation.
- Demonstrates a high regard for quality and safety procedures

Personal Disposition:

- Good level of physical fitness as will need the ability to move and lift heavy objects within manual handling guidelines
- Must be able to work at heights.
- Own transportation is essential due to location of site
