**Probation Officer**
**£22.44 - £26.45p/h** (Depending on experience)
We are seeking a Qualified Probation Officer to work in a High Secure Prison at HMP Long Lartin. This is an exciting opportunity to work with risky individuals to formulate assessments and risk management plans both to manage individuals whilst they are inprison, progress them through the prison estate and then release into community.
Must have one of the following qualifications and able to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in English. Mandatory Eligibility Requirement
- **Qualifications**
Probation Qualification Framework Graduate Diploma/ Honours Degree in Community Justice integrated with Level 5 Diploma in Probation Practice.
Or a qualification which was recognised at the time of qualification by the Secretary of State for Justice as per Section 10 of the Offender Management Act 2007.The following qualifications gained in England and Wales were previously recognised as providingsuch eligibility:
Diploma in Probation Studies,
Diploma in Social Work (with Probation Option)
CQSW (with Probation Option)
Diploma in Probation Studies,
Diploma in Social Work (with Probation Option)
Typical tasks associated with this role include:

- Supervise, manage and assess prisoners decently, safely and securely whilst carrying out all activities
- Establish, develop and maintain professional relationships with prisoners and staff
- Maintain and update systems in line with local agreements
- Prepare relevant documentation to managers for verification / quality checking purposes
- Attend and contribute to relevant meetings as required

To assess and manage the risk posed by offenders to protect victims of crime and the general public by:

- Providing information and advice to other criminal justice agencies and partner organisations
- Supervise offenders during custodial sentences
- Contribute to the management of risk
- Work with other agencies
