LJMU is offering an experienced professional administrator the opportunity to work in this exciting environment within the Secretariat, Legal and Governance Services. The Team is responsible for providing an exceptional and reliable service to the Board of Governors, sub-committees and the Academic Board. The purpose of which is to provide strong university governance arrangements that are efficient and effective without complacency.

The main focus of the role is to provide appropriate administrative support to the Board of Governors to a high standard. This will involve working closely with the Clerk to the Board to ensure that all expected outputs are met, providing the necessary advice and guidance and the servicing to meet demand. You will play a key role in ensuring that systems are up-to-date and with the organisation of an annual workshop and conference.

There will be some liaison with the Vice-Chancellor’s Office in relation to the business of the Board. The post-holder should have a thorough understanding of the Higher Education sector in which the University operates, to demonstrate excellent judgement and initiative, and possess the ability to evaluate precedents and analyse best practice based on a clear understanding of statutory and governance issues.

Exceptional written communication skills are a pre-requisite for the role, as is a strong organisational ability, to ensure deadlines and standards are consistently met.
