Jock Rome’s family have been farming on the land around Kilnford, here in Southern Scotland for well over 300 years. Jock uses his wealth of knowledge and experience whilst working alongside his farming and butchery teams to produce what he considers to be world class, Galloway beef, Blackface Lamb and outdoor reared pork.

You can enjoy Kilnford’s home reared produce by purchasing from our butchery, served up in our restaurant or Bothy, or buying online and having it delivered to your door with our home delivery service. **Job Overview**

**Hours**:Negotiable

**Salary**:Above minimum wage

We have an exciting opportunity available for an Apprentice Butcher and are looking to employ a new and enthusiastic individual who shows a willingness to learn and develop their skills as a certified Butcher.

This position would be ideal for someone who is looking to learn new skills and knowledge whilst working and earning a wage. All SVQ assessments are done in store, certified by the Scottish Craft Butchers through their Craft Skills Scotland programme.

Full training will be given on site and is an excellent career for someone looking to become a skilled craft butcher within a well established, award winning butchers.
- Great customer service skills
- Be aged 16 or over (due to licensing)
- Be extremely passionate about food, local produce and customer satisfaction
- A strong desire to learn new tasks
- Is a team player
- Has excellent attention to detail
- A polite and professional manner
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Be willing to work a mixture of weekdays and weekends
