Building Recovery Lead

**Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 dependent on experience**

To coordinate access to a range of individual and group
- based interventions to stimulate growth and opportunity on an individual and community level:
- Increase and sustain recovery capital.
- Contribution and inclusion within the recovery community and broader Sunderland communities in its journey to becoming an Inclusive Recovery City.
- Deliver Recovery Ally training to enhance community recovery capital
- Support and development of a Recovery Community Centre model that is member led.
- Empower and support people to reintegrate into the local community and participate in associational life as an active member.
- To contribute towards Recovery Connections corporate aims in promoting recovery.
- To prioritise working in specific areas of deprivation, social exclusion and poverty to support people in accessing services and participating fully in recovery, including minority groups.
**PRINCIPLE DUTIES**
- Promote Recovery Connections opportunities to the recovery community, voluntary sector, health services, social work departments, Criminal Justice services and other organisations.
- Receive referrals and introductions to individuals affected by addiction and facilitate access to the available community, educational and training activities.
- Work in collaboration with the recovery community to co-produce a recovery community centre model across Sunderland.
- Deliver and co-facilitate a range of individual and group
- based meetings, workshops and social events.
- Support the aspiration for Sunderland to achieve Inclusive Recovery City status.
- Coordinate an IRC working group and ensure representation from all stakeholders.
- Contribute to supporting people in their continual progression to be active stakeholders and Lived Experience ambassadors.
- Coordinate and deliver Recovery Ally training across professional and community based groups.
- Contribute to the aims and objectives of IPS employment programme.
- Planning and implementation of strategic objectives and contribution to relevant steering groups.
- Promote the benefits and value of volunteering, peer engagement to people recovering from problematic substance use, in order to support individuals to sustain recovery.
- Assist in the design, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of Recovery Connections educational and training programmes.
- Promote co-production, volunteering, educational, vocational and employment opportunities.
- Identify national, community, neighbourhood and local resources that can contribute towards recovery and assist in the introduction of using such resources.
- Produce written reports on a periodic and regular basis pertaining to monitoring and evaluation of the project(s) performance.
- Liaise with other professionals, practitioners and organisations where appropriate, to promote the opportunities available.
- Attend internal and external meetings, multi-agency and planning groups as required on a periodic and regular basis and to submit written reports as required.
- Maintain and develop personal development and learning plans as agreed locally and to be responsible for own professional development.
**This is a new role and as such the principal duties may change with the project development and co-production.**
**Key Technical Skills**
- Ability to work within a co-production, coaching, recovery capital development, resilience, community involvement, leadership and community development ethos.
- Competent in monitoring, recording and evaluation of own work.
- Ability to work flexibly and creatively in motivating, supporting and developing people in recovery.
- Ability to design, deliver & evaluate training interventions.
**Key Interpersonal / Behavioural Skills**
- Ability to successfully network with various stakeholders.
- High level of verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to recognise and manage one’s own stress.
**Qualifications/Experience**:
- Recognised professional qualification or training award in social care or health care or community work or counselling or addictions to a minimum NVQ level 4 or equivalent.
- Recognised coaching qualification.
- Minimum of two years’ experience of working with or supporting people in recovery from problematic substance use or addictive behaviours or mental health problems.
- Lived experience of substance use and/or behavioural problematic use/addiction is beneficial but not essential.
- Experience of community led/co-production methods.
- Working within a trauma informed/psychological informed environment.
