Alecto Recruitment is keen to hear from Project Engineers or Senior Project Engineers to assist my client who own and operate low carbon and renewable energy CHP networks in Milton Keynes and Woking.

Our client is generating assets that include nearly 10MW of gas fired CHP and over 1.8 MW of solar PV installations and can offer a generous and highly competitive salary in addition to a company reputation that is highly sought after.

The Senior Projects Engineer is responsible for ensuring all parts of the project delivery chain are fully aligned with the project objectives. This includes ensuring the appropriate project documentation is in place for each critical stage of a projectlifespan (such as specification and tender documents, contractor's proposals, design drawings, Des of Ops, P&IDs, commissioning reports and O&M documents). During construction and commissioning phases, the role of the Senior Projects Engineer is to act asthe client's engineer responsible for ensuring that all work, plant and installed equipment is fully compliant with the requirements and standards defined in the project documentation.

**Job Brief**

You will be responsible for;
- Developing project briefs for individual projects including new customer connections, network expansion or major asset replacements, and liaising with key partners (such as developer's M&E design teams) to ensure critical interfaces with third party worksare fully co-ordinated to achieve the desired outcomes and standards.
- Leading in the preparation of specifications, employer's requirements and ITTs for major engineering projects and recommending appointment of contractors and suppliers.
- Reviewing contractor's proposals and checking for compliance against specification.
- Reporting on project progress against expected programme and costs.
- Providing the client engineering lead on multi-service infrastructure projects (heat, cooling, power and data).
- Co-ordinating with in-house energy networks Maintenance team (approximately 10 FTE).
- Providing technical advice and expertise on opportunities to deliver the long-term environmental objectives of the client energy networks, with particular emphasis on developing the 'roadmap' for decarbonisation of energy supply.
- Contributing to Company strategic planning for expansion of energy networks and assets through liaison with developers, planning officers, Highway's authority staff and other key stakeholders critical to successful network expansion and connecting new customers.

**Requirements**:

- A strong understanding of hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and data systems used in district energy networks.
- Experience in defining user requirements for mechanical equipment including commercial pumps, motors and valves.
- Experience of working with PLC/SCADA systems.
- Experience as client engineer in overseeing the commissioning of LTHW and chilled water generation and distribution systems.
- Experience of managing project delivery processes and working within multi-disciplinary MEPH installation projects.
- Relevant mechanical/electrical engineering qualifications to degree level (minimum).
- Specialist training and qualifications for systems, components, or other equipment relevant to the role.

**Package**
- Basic Salary £45,000 - £55,000
- 25 Days annual leave plus Bank holidays (rising to 28 days)
