**The Appointment**:
The post of Progress Tutor involves working across a range of level 1 and 2 curriculum areas. The post holder will be responsible for delivering the College’s tutorial programme to full-time students as well as monitoring student process and attendance across their course. This includes providing students with a high level of support, monitoring progress and facilitating sound careers advice and guidance. This will involve delivering weekly group tutorials, contributing to pastoral and careers related workshops and conducting and recording regular high quality one-to-one reviews supporting high achievement and progression.

The post holder will be responsible to the Head of Studies.

**The Post**:
**The roles and responsibilities below reflect the crucial aspects in delivering a successful tutorial programme.**
- To contribute towards the delivery of the College induction programme including late starters.
- To deliver themed group sessions as directed.
- To manage and support a case load of students meeting on a one-to-one and group basis

(approximately 9 groups) to ensure excellent attendance and progress.
- To operate the College’s ‘Maintaining Student Responsibility’ policy.
- Monitor student attendance in line with College targets, setting supportive and stretching SMART targets for students where necessary.
- Monitor the progress of students based on targets set including the value-added tracking system on

ProMonitor, providing every student with focused 1:1 interviews.
- To liaise with course teams and undertake systematic reviewing of student progress and welfare.
- Contribute to student reports and review with students on a one-to-one basis.
- To assist in setting minimum target grades and aspirational targets and recording achievement using the

College’s ProMonitor system, including individual learning plans for students.
- Liaise with parents including the promotion of the parent portal use.
- To support students in appropriate aspects of progression planning, including UCAS, Apprenticeship and employment.
- To provide references for students as applicable.
- To regularly attend Department and team meetings and relevant staff development.
- To provide references for students as applicable.
- To liaise with Student Engagement Officers, Learning Support, and other internal and external agencies as appropriate.
- Attend scheduled parents’ evenings and promotional College events.
- To provide information relating to course or College wide events.
- To actively promote and contribute to the Learner Voice mechanisms
- The post holder may be required to cover additional classes during the year, to cover staff shortages / sickness where appropriate.
- Administrative tasks as appropriate to the post.
