**Safer Streets Night-time Economy Warden**

Delivering a professional and reassuring night-time presence within the town centres of Salisbury, Trowbridge and Chippenham by providing frontline customer service with the view of reducing levels of crime and anti-social behaviour, reducing the fear of crime and increasing public reassurance. Working on behalf of and in conjunction with Wiltshire and Swindon’s Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), Wiltshire Police and other agencies our Safer Streets Night-time Warden team will work to deliver safer and more pleasant town centres.

**£15.00 p/hr + training + pension**

16 hrs per week working Friday and Saturday nights

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Provide a visible, alert and smart presence within Salisbury, Trowbridge and Chippenham
- Undertake routine foot patrols as required
- Respond to and manage incidents efficiently and effectively
- Liaise with night-time premises and other stakeholder as required
- Follow the assignment instruction (AI) accurately and in a professional manner
- Maintain effective communication with the Project Supervisor ensuring that issues are raised and dealt with promptly and effectively
- Liaise with police, client representatives and other agencies as necessary
- Complete necessary documentation including incident and occurrence reports as required
- Write complete and accurate incident and handover reports and taking appropriate action on all reports received by you at the beginning or during each shift
- Be tactful and have an understanding of the political standpoint of the scheme
- Complete required screening and training programme to become an Accredited CSAS Officer (where applicable)
- Implement and utilise specified low level police powers (once become an Accredited CSAS Officer)
- Undertake ongoing continuous professional development (CPD).

**Details**:

- 16 hours over Friday and Saturday nights
- 5.6 weeks pro rata paid annual leave
- Extensive training given to those suitable to become an Accredited CSAS Officer
- Job holders must have a current and active SIA licence (either Door Supervision or Close Protection)
- Applicants must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check/ Level 2 Police checks and 10-year background checks
- Working every Friday and Saturday evening, 8 hours per shift
- Must be able to make own way to site without reliance on public transport
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Good negotiator and problem solver
- Able to use own initiative to assess situations and respond appropriately
- Proven ability to deliver excellent customer care
- Smart, well-presented and confident
- Good knowledge and experience of working in the night-time economy, managing nuisance and public disorder
- Experience in dealing with anti-social behaviour and working in partnership with local authorities and the Police
