IT Apprentice

If so, our client has an amazing new opportunity as an IT Apprentice.

The role will begin as a member of the support team and will be responsible for taking calls from customers and assisting them with their problems working with the wider team, attending customer sites, and gaining training and experience in working withvarious technologies.

You will be working towards gaining your Level 3 IT Solutions and iv3 Information Communications Technician qualification.

**Location**: Arundel, West Sussex

**Salary**: 12,000-18,000 (according to level of knowledge, experience, and suitability)

**Hours of Work**: According to the Weekly Support roster and varied during team annual leave periods. The team has flexible working arrangements. Alternating weeks within the team:
8:00 am - 4:30 pm

8:30 am - 5 pm

9:00 am - 5:30 pm

**IT Apprentice Duties**:

- Install Laptops and Desktops and accessories including monitors, monitor arms for mounting monitors, network cabling etc.
- Maintenance of Software patching on PCs, Servers, and infrastructure (O/S patches, antivirus, firmware upgrades etc.)
- Periodic Testing of backups and restores
- Auditing customer environments and documenting network topologies
- Attending the Helpdesk phone system and taking first line enquiries and issues for customers
- Helping customers with general technical queries
- Entering customer fault tickets into ticketing system and managing the tickets working with the wider Protozoon team
- Visiting customer sites when required to install equipment or support the customer and resolve issues
- Communicating with Service Providers and Vendors to resolve more complex issues
- Supporting customer Microsoft teams phone deployments
- Supporting senior on duty engineers
- A clean Driving License is necessary as travel to customer sites is part of the job description.
- Some on site work is expected to happen at various customer sites on a weekly basis according to Engineer rota.
- Over time, additional exposure in the role will be granted as follows:

- Installation, administration, and management of Windows Servers
- Testing D/R failover resilience of key customer services
- Managing Firewalls and customer IT Security
- More senior role activities

**IT Apprentice Requirements**:

- Basic network fundamentals knowledge (IP subnets, basic routing, DHCP, DNS)
- Curiosity for Computers and Technology
- Any Microsoft certification or equivalent certificate desirable (or working towards Apprenticeship)
- Strong inter-personal skills, good listener, ability to follow instruction and query or challenge when needed
- Ability to prioritise. Analytical mind
