Procurement Assistant

**An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as a Procurement Assistant within our Demolition division, working at our Warrington office.**
**Salary**: £22,500 per annum.
**About the role**
As Procurement Assistant, you will be assisting the department Buyer with the control of plant hire and equipment. In addition, you will assist in the implementation of procurement policies and procedures for all goods and services procured by the Company.
**Role responsibilities**
- Ensure that all prospective suppliers and sub-contractors complete the relevant vetting and approvals in line with Company requirements.
- Liaising with site for all purchase requests and orders.
- Purchasing materials, hire tools, plant and machinery as requested.
- Raising purchase orders, ensure the corresponding deliveries are received and process all associated documentation in accordance with company procedures.
- Regularly reviewing prices and negotiate price/cost savings liaising with the Director and Regional Manager as necessary.
- Managing the provision of on-site services i.e., welfare.
- Matching purchase orders, goods received notes and completing GRN’s via the Company’s internal system, RedSky.
- Ensuring suppliers are paid in accordance with their terms, resolving disputes and negotiating our preferred terms with suppliers.
- Responsible for moving plant and attachments around, ensuring machine certifications are kept up to dates and arranging the servicing and repair of plant and attachments.
- Assisting Contract Managers with historical job costing.
- Working in accordance with the Company’s quality procedures and Health and Safety requirements at all times.
**About you**
- Proven experience within an administrative role is essential.
- Experience within a purchasing role is advantageous, but not essential.
- Experience of working within Demolition or Construction industries is advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent and demonstrated planning and organisational skills.
- Good communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders, both verbal and written.
- IT literate, such as Microsoft Packages.
- Experienced with internal systems and databases.
- Hands on approach and a ‘can do’ attitude.
- Ability to work within a team and support one another.
- Proactive problem-solving skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines that have been agreed.
- Strong attention to detail.
