**Job description**

1st Step Education & Training is a young and innovative Pre-16 training provider in beauty therapy sector. We specialise in offering barbering and nail tech. courses to students who are unable to access main stream education. We are now expanding to offer functional skills in English and Mathematics courses.

Our approach is holistic and relaxed with a strong focus on qualification achievement and personal development. We achieve this with small class sizes and emphasis on mindset coaching and self awareness

We also offer affordable and adult learning courses for students who wish to change career or learn a new skill.

**Duties**:

- Support the tutor in delivering Pre
- designed work booklets for Nail art, Nail technology and Hairdressing and Barbering vocational qualifications to young people aged 14-16 years old
- Support in the preparation of innovative activities and project work for young people to really engage with the course and learning journey set by the Tutor.
- Offer a supportive and nurturing atmosphere to support young people to engage and learn.
- Support the Lead tutor in delivering functional skills
- Grow with the organisation.
- Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures
- Willing to participate and undertake training as required
- Support the Center managers and Tutors in behaviour management.
- Supporting the Center Manager and Tutor in organising innovative learning activities for learners.
- Help in creating a safe learning environment for our young people.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the centre.

**Experience**:

- Teaching assistant/ classroom experience essential
- Working with young people with challenging behaviours is essential
- A willingness to learn, train and develop teaching career essential.
- experience or an interest in Nail art is desirable
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service and build rapport with clients
- Excellent communication skills

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From £12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
