**Telemetry Technician**

**Location: **Reading, RG2 0SA

**Salary: **£34,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Established in 1987, with a Head Office in Reading, our client has over 30 years’ experience as an electrical contractor, specialising in control systems for process control, automation, and telemetry, primarily for the water industry. They have three regionaloffices located in Caerphilly, Leeds, and Langley Mill.

**The Role**

Operating within the Telemetry Group this will be a mainly site based role. The company serve Thames water throughout the Thames Valley working on their clean and sewage water sites

There may be occasions where support for other projects / departments may be required across the business, so a flexible attitude is desired.

This role will also require the ability to effectively liaise with internal staff (both senior and junior) and external clients / contractors in a polite, professional and courteous manner.

**Typical (non-exhaustive) duties may include**:

- Ensuring that all Health & Safety processes and procedures are followed
- Carry out electrical installation work to BS7671.
- Carry out installation, service and repair to a variety of low voltage electrical control systems.
- Carry our installation, replacement, and modifications to various Telemetry based systems.
- Carry out installation and commissioning of a variety of instrumentation systems, including pressure, level, temperature, flow & actuated knife gate valves.
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance and calibration of instruments on JRP’s product range.
- Ability to fault find in control panels with / without electrical schematics
- MCC / control panel modifications
- Provide written technical reports and other documentation as required by senior engineering professionals.
- Be capable of carrying out test and inspection of electrical installation and providing satisfactory documentation as required by the Company’s nominated certificating body (NICEIC, ECA etc.)
- All technicians should be PC literate and be able to demonstrate a sound background in IT skills.

**Role Requirements**

Essential:

- Electrically Qualified
- Hold 18th Edition Wiring regulations qualification
- Flexible approach
- Ability to organise and manage time effectively
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- A high level of PC Skills
- Ability to work well alone as well as with other teams within the company

Desirable:

- Previous experience on Telemetry Units
- Understanding of Water Industry Control Systems and processes
