**Job Title**: Womens College Academy Coach and Tutor

**Hours of work**: 37.5 per week.

**Salary**: Up to £24,000 per annum

**Location**: Rectory Park, Northolt

**Reports to**: College Academy Manager

**Department**: QPR Community Trust - Education Department

**Role Summary**:
The main purpose of this role is to contribute to the delivery of QPR College Academy, working as a Tutor of our BTEC Education Programme and as a Coach of the women’s football squads on a daily basis.

As a Tutor, you will support and deliver the BTEC level 2 and 3 programme to students in year 12 and 13, in partnership with Northolt High School. Alongside this, you will have pastoral and safeguarding duties in line with policies and work plan.

You will be required to develop learning resources, deliver and evaluate lessons and contribute to the delivery of whole project activities such as assemblies, workshops and festivals.

As a coach, you will design and deliver a coaching syllabus alongside other staff as well as being responsible for a squad and their matches.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Deliver on the College Academy programme as tutor and coach. This is to include (not exhaustive):

- Develop, refine and deliver learning resources for BTEC lessons
- Deliver coaching syllabus to defined groups on the pitch
- Classroom support for pupils 1:1 or in small groups.
- Plan and deliver specific workshops and assemblies.
- Complete monitoring & evaluation in line with PLCF and QPR policies
- Engage with schools and participants in Social Action projects, particularly climate change awareness
- Encourage young people’s enthusiasm and participation in football and physical activity, in particular their longer-term participation in football.
- Work as part of a coaching team in the Education Department, liaising with; partners, parents and colleagues to ensure the ongoing continuation and expansion of locally based activities.
- Plan and deliver appropriate activities that fulfil the national curriculum requirements.
- Ensure that suitable progression pathways are available for young people to reach the most suitable level of participation, regardless of their ability or personal circumstances. This will involve linking, and maintaining a relationship with relevant schools and clubs.
- Organise, manage and deliver other events as relevant to the programme, for example tournaments and festivals, open/taster days or education workshops.
- When required, provide cover and assistance for other coaching staff across all boroughs/areas that the Trust operates. This cover may extend to attending meetings, conferences, workshops and events if required.
- Where appropriate, support the development of work experience trainees in order to increase their personal skills.
- Retain young people in sport by providing guidance on progression, exit routes and further sporting and leisure opportunities based on the young person’s interests and abilities.
- Ensure students are aware of QPR offer at higher education and employment

**Personal Specification**

**Skills/Knowledge/Experience**
- Knowledge of the KS5 curriculum, including BTEC Sport
- Experience of tutoring/teaching young people aged 16-19yrs old in an education setting.
- Experience of coaching football to ages 16-19yrs old
- Mentoring other staff through coaching/teaching.
- Experience of working with socially excluded young people.
- Experience of evaluating the impact of sessions and writing reports to reflect this.
- Knowledge of how to offer pastoral support to students
- Understanding of how to use QPR & football as a motivational tool to inspire young people.

- Passion for working with young people and using sport to help inspire change.
- Have a genuine interest in creating opportunities through sport and education for disadvantaged people within the community.
- A passion for self-development and a willingness to find and undertake continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities.

**Qualifications**
- Driving Licence and access to a vehicle (Essential)
- UEFA C (Essential)
- Level 3 Teaching Qualification (Desirable)
- UEFA B (Desirable)
- In-date DBS/Safeguarding/Emergency Aid (Desirable)
- Mental Health First Aid (Desirable)
