**Job Summary**

Reporting to the Group Director of Capital Projects, the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of an extensive and complex programme of new and remodelled estates infrastructure. The post holder will help deliver a comprehensive plan for the developmentof business cases and the implementation of the extensive capital programme across the 3 complex sites. The post-holder will ensure the delivery of capital investments to a consistently high standard, which ensures high quality and compliance and deliveryto programme budget and time constraints. They will need to exhibit an extremely high level of expertise in estates development to ensure delivery of the organisational goals.

**Job Duties**
- Manage and implement the Joint Capital Investment Programme for the hospitals
- Work with the site Capital Project teams across all three sites to deliver major Mechanical and Electrical infrastructure projects within the existing retained estates and future developments. To maintain a continuous dialogue with the Group Director, Headof Capital Delivery and the Senior Capital Projects Managers.
- To investigate new technologies that will reduce the Trust Energy consumption and resilience on all sites and act as a link between the site teams to develop and implement new technologies and to promote the exchange of knowledge across the sites.
- Have an in depth knowledge of complex Mechanical and Electrical infrastructure services complemented by an understanding of other disciplines associated large establishments ideally with several years of experience gained within an acute Hospital environment.
- Deliver an extensive programme of capital investments in the built environment mainly major works schemes. Help develop and manage the agreed programme and within time and cost constraints.
- Manage and monitor, using complex programme management methodology for reporting on performance, risks, issues, timing, quality and benefits realisation, and ensure the programme is reported through the appropriate governance framework.
- Ensure plans are developed with wide-ranging consultation and stakeholder engagement at senior and strategic level to maintain alignment with clinical and non-clinical services transformation plans, both within and outside of the acute hospital trusts.
- Follow the strategy for the selection and appointment of appropriate professional consultants and advisors delivering multi million pound schemes, commensurate with the wider delivery strategy for the programme, aligned with public sector procurement rulesas applicable.
- Ensure business cases are developed which are robustly appraised financially, supporting organisational and wider STP financial sustainability goals.
- Ensure a comprehensive Risk Management Strategy is adopted for every project within their remit which deals with the complexity and potential impact on the programme.
- Ensure projects are planned and executed with due care and consideration to maintaining the health, wellbeing and safety of those involved in the delivery of projects, ensuring compliance to statutory regulation, including the Health and Safety at WorkAct (1974) and associated legislation, those who may come into contact with the construction environment, and those who will be involved in the usage or decommissioning of facilities including staff patients and the general public.
- Analyse complex facts, interpret and use as the basis for the formulation of Estates development options.
- Operate specialised computerised systems such as computerised technical drawing systems and project management software to develop the solutions.

**Qualifications/ Skills**
- Masters level Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
- Specialist knowledge backed by extensive experience in the delivery of complex programmes of estates capital investment.
- Project Management Qualification e.g. MSP, Prince 2 or equivalent experience.
- Experience in planning and delivering multiple projects within a complex programme over multiple years of investment.
