Assistant Greenkeeper

Reports to: Course Manager

Full time Hours: This is a salaried position working seasonal hours (40-summer / 35-winter) (Some weekend work will be required, and an overtime scheme is available.)

Holidays: 20days plus bank Holidays.

Remuneration: A package, including overtime opportunities and pension scheme.

An excellent and very rare opportunity has arisen for the position of Assistant Greenkeeper to join and develop with the team at our long-standing championship venue. This role would suit an individual with some green keeping experience who would like to further develop their knowledge of fine turf management.

Located in North Yorkshire, just a few miles inland from the seaside town of Scarborough. Ganton Golf Club is one of the finest 18-hole Championship golf courses in the world. Established in 1891 the course remains one of the most unique golfing experiences within golf.

The club has hosted some of the biggest tournaments in the world including Ryder Cup, Walker Cup and the Curtis cup. Most recently the R&A Boys and Girls Amateur Championships.

We have recently embarked on an exciting new journey, with a positive belief to achieve the best in all areas within the business. This has been complimented with new green keeping facility & compound, workshop, welfare and new equipment.

The Club are currently working closely with the R&A and Golf Course Architects, Mackenzie and Ebert to sensitively deliver an exciting Master Plan

Job Function / Requirement
- Previous experience maintaining sports turf surfaces would be seen as benefit.
- Must Have the ability to work in a team and individually.
- Has eye for detail.
- Good time keeping skills
- Must hold a full driving licence.
