**THE COMPANY**

Our client is a well-established manufacturer of packaging machinery with specialist knowledge in tray heat sealing technology and factory automation. They fabricate and supply packing machinery to food manufactures throughout the UK. They are in need of a Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator to join their team.

**THE OPPORTUNITY**

Due to an internal promotion they urgently need to recruit a Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator to fabricate sub-components, stainless steel frames and the like, in accordance with detailed drawings and to agreed deadlines and quality standards.

The Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator responsibilities will include:
1. Cut, form and drill sub-components up to inspection stage.

2. Carry out dimensional inspection prior to welding.

3. Carry out welding operation with allowances for distortion and shrinkage and consideration for final polishing operation.

4. Undertake plasma cutting operations in a safe manner when required.

5. Operate the press brake in a safe manner.

6. Undertake internal inspection of all completed jobs prior to despatch to main site.

7. Ensure that all necessary documentation is completed promptly and accurately.

8. Ensure that completed documentation is despatched with the finished components to the main works.

9. Provide cover in the polishing area as required. Both in pre-polishing and final polishing when the need arises.

10. Maintain a clean and tidy work area on a daily basis.

11. Ensure that scrap material is stored appropriately.

12. Ensure that machines are left in a clean and safe condition.

13. Assist colleagues with problems that arise offering practical and appropriate solutions.

14. Deal professionally, competently and courteously with suppliers and colleagues in verbal and written communications.

**THE OFFER**

The client offers the Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator a competitive salary of £30,000 and a company pension.
