Group Accounts Assistant

**Investigo are working to bring in an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant into a vibrant Property Organisation based in the Canary Wharf area of London**
Group Accounts Assistant role within the Group Finance department. An entry level role, focusing on ensuring the accuracy of balance sheet working capital postings.
**Main Responsibilities**:
- Preparation and maintenance of audit support file, liaison with auditors and monitoring outstanding task list.
- Preparation of adjusting journals, together with proper audit trail support, to accurately correct posting errors within the accounting records.
- Preparing or reviewing balances sheet reconciliations for items such as trade debtors, trade creditors, VAT and cash. Ensuring that reconciling items are resolved in a timely fashion.
- Review of trade debtor and trade creditor listings for intercompany items and liaison with AP & AR to ensure timely settlement.
- Monthly review of accruals and prepayments to ensure all entries reverse out appropriately.
- Execution of and reconciliations for monthly payroll journals for payrolls, including accruals for amounts cross charged to other entities.
- Liaison with the segment accounting teams and consolidation teams as part of the financial reporting close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Liaison with the Tax department to ensure an appropriate accrual is posted for tax and deferred tax quarterly for all entities within the group.
- Other ad hoc duties as required.
**What We Require of You**:
- Must be computer literate with the ability to adapt to new software products. Strong Excel skills are required.
- Must be collaborative in order to build relationships across the organisation with a strong sense of team work. Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Attention to detail and agility to work across a range of areas is critical. Must be able to take ownership of tasks, bear responsibility for work produced. Must be able to demonstrate academic success.
