**Ashton Recruitment requires a Senior Information Governance Officer for their client based in Belfast.**

**Job Title**:Senior Information Governance Officer (Data Protection)

**Duration**:Temporary

**Location**:Belfast City Centre

**Hours**:37 per week

**Rate of Pay**:£17.36 per hour

**Duties will include (but are not limited to)**:
Responsible to the Records Manager, who is the clients Data Protection Officer, for:

- the coordination of the client’s compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other access-to-information legislation and associated projects.
- advising directors and other officers on all aspects of complying with the relevant data protection legislation.
- training and communication to elected members and all staff and on their duties in relation to Data Protection issues.
- Maintain awareness of and expertise in developments relating to data protection and update as appropriate the related corporate policies and procedures.
- Assist with the review of new legislation and advise on the potential impact on the organisation’s compliance with Data Protection and other Information Governance legislation.

**Essential Criteria**:
**or**

(a) providing expert advice to senior managers and staff on all aspects of data protection compliance and best practice.

(b) designing and delivering training for senior managers and staff in relation to their duties regarding data protection issues.

(c) developing, reviewing, and updating corporate policies and supporting guidance documentation for both staff and members of the public on data protection and related matters.

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

- A-Level or equivalent (required)

**Experience**:

- data protection compliance: 1 year (required)
- designing and delivering training: 1 year (required)
- reviewing and updating corporate policies: 1 year (required)
