The Skin/Sarcoma clinical nurse specialist team has a vacancy for a 15hours per week Cancer Patient Coordinator. This is an 18 month fixed term post.

These are challenging but rewarding posts that are vital to the success of suspected and diagnosed cancer patients receiving care and treatment in a timely manner.

This post holder will be the first point of contact for patients to provide care co-ordination and high quality patient care. This includes direct patient contact, responding appropriately to sensitive/ complex issues and ensuring confidentiality is maintained.

Care coordination and extensive administrative work supports the Plastic Surgery/skin cancer CNS team and consultant surgeons to see a larger number of patients efficiently and smoothly, utilising basic clinical knowledge, approved tools and procedures. This post will support all aspects of the patient pathway including plastic surgery and oncology, the post holder with also support the coordination of the sarcoma service.

The role assists the CNS team and Plastic Surgery department in service developments and supports the team to implement new initiatives such as developing patient health and wellbeing clinics and other nurse/consultant led clinics..
