**This role will focus on**:
Our Service Engineers are essential part of the After sales team and are central to our customer's experience. Our core values are very important to us at Watson-Marlow. We expect our service engineers to uphold outstanding safety standards and a high level of integrity. There will be a responsibility for individuals to determine the appropriate course of action for the products received within the service department. Utilising knowledge of our products, to provide the very best level of customer service to our customers and colleagues in our sales offices around the globe.
This role requires examination of our products, with subsequent investigation, evaluation reporting and
appropriate action being taken.
**Key Responsibilities include**:
- Ensure products are investigated, evaluated and as required serviced and repaired efficiently and effectively providing long-term reliability and customer satisfaction in the Watson-Marlow brand
- Generation of repair documentation and repair quotations through our work flow system
- Take part in fault finding and repair on and occasionally off-site covering all Watson-Marlow group products
- Carry out performance and safety testing in accordance with the relevant specification
- Monitoring and recording recurring or common faults, noting patterns and reporting these as appropriate
- Evaluate customer returns and if appropriate and required, action the restocking of products
- Ensuring customer requests are carried out and rectified within a timely manner, and are done so within service contract response times as appropriate
**To be successful in this role, you will need**:
- To be able to learn and work with broad product ranges.
- Excellent attention to detail including working to process and a logical technical based approach to problem solving.
- Electronics qualification (BTEC or A-Level or above) or demonstrable equivalent relevant experience, to include component recognition and understanding the function of common discrete electronic components.
- To have a good understanding of basic electronic circuit functions.
- This role will occasionally include some component level fault-finding of PCB's and/or interactions with external control systems to determine causes of failure.
- Mechanical Engineering qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience in addition to electronics is desirable.
- To have a sound understanding of good mechanical maintenance practices.
- In addition to the above, knowledge and experience with PLC control systems, qualification and/or experience with 3 phase motors and variable speed motor drives is highly desirable.
- Interpreting schematic and technical drawings
- Ability to communicate outcomes effectively with the wider team and be comfortable working to deadlines and prioritising workload in collaboration with the wider team and its management.
