The Department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion at Lancaster University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Philosophy. This is a full time, indefinite post, to start 1 August 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.

You will have an excellent profile in research and teaching appropriate to your career stage. This post is open to all those working in all areas of Philosophy, though we would particularly welcome applicants whose work addresses topics in either (a) feminist philosophy or (b) history of philosophy, including areas of the history of philosophy which consider the contributions of marginalised groups and comparative philosophy that engages with more than one tradition.

You will have experience of teaching undergraduates and/or postgraduates, and the ability to attract students and provide high quality, research-led teaching in Philosophy.

You will have completed your PhD (or be very near to completion), will have a record of excellence in published research appropriate to your career stage, and will have concrete plans for future internationally excellent research publications, research funding and/or projects. You will have the ability to contribute to the research culture in the Department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion. Your research and teaching development will be supported by a mentoring system within the Department and a range of departmental and faculty level teaching and research development activities.
