The opportunity

Project: Various projects within the consultancy sector of the business.

The consultancy projects SME is responsible for championing best practice processes, looking for improvement opportunities and for monitoring and maintaining performance, driving standardisation. The project SME is in a full-time role for the next 12 months and reports to the consultancy global process owner.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Supervising continuous improvement activity across the UK and international consultancy businesses to help ensure that PMs, commercial leads and BUDs are using the system as intended and able to fully exploit its capabilities.
- Directing the business readiness network (BRN) across consultancy (currently 100 super users and 14 champions in the UK), ensuring the network remains vibrant, relevant and that the members have the necessary expertise.
- Being a key member of the Oracle design authority, taking the lead in identifying and documenting opportunities to enhance the Oracle solution and associated processes such they are pragmatic, streamlined and add value to the Consultancy business.
- Identifying opportunities for improved reporting and analysis to help drive performance.
- Proposing initiatives to address non-compliance and raise standards, making positive interventions where required.
- Working alongside the Oracle support centre to evaluate new capabilities within the quarterly Oracle releases and to work through systems issues/defects such that they are resolved to the satisfaction of the consultancy team in a timely manner.
- Working with the BRN, Oracle support centre and L&D to ensure that new recruits or promotes have the required training and coaching.
- Working with the consultancy global process owner (GPO) to escalate any major issues and ensure they are fully briefed ahead of any major design decisions.
- Building and sustaining relationships with senior management across the global consultancy organisation, both to ensure they are able to raise any issues, share improvement ideas and remain accountable for driving compliance within their teams.
- Collaborating with finance teams and finance stakeholders to help maintain a balance between project-based and finance-led considerations.
- Facilitating the preparation of templates and documentation required when changes to processes.
- Developing and continually reviewing performance to ensure a standard approach is being taken across sectors and changes are managed carefully.

About you

You have a degree qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline and with professional membership in APMP or CIM. You have knowledge of the project-related processes and functionality in Oracle. You have good knowledge of Mace consultancy business and ways of working. You have the ability to engage with stakeholders at a variety of levels.

You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams. You will have a construction or project management background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
