As a result of continued growth, our client is looking to appoint a Financial Controller. This is a broad Financial Management role covering all areas of Finance, reporting directly to the Managing Director. The company has ambitious plans to develop andgrow further and this exciting new role has now been created to support the company wide development strategy.
Key Responsibilities:

- Manage the income and expenditure accounts, including the preparation of cash flow forecasts and scheduling and budgeting of payments.
- Preparation of all tax returns to meet the deadlines.
- Processing monthly salaries, pensions, and PAYE/NI, and annual returns as required and ensure all RTI and auto
- enrolment pension obligations are met. Preparation of annual accounts for audit and identification and implementation of any process improvements.
- Develop and maintain key supplier and sub-contractor finance relationships.
- Conducting annual reviews of procurement contracts.
- Actively manage the credit control & sales ledger to ensure that the aged debt is within agreed limits.
- Raising and processing of invoices.
- Improve and develop the accounts system producing timely and reliable management information reports on a monthly basis. Produce accurate financial reports to deadlines, interpreting financial information and highlighting any concerns or matters that shouldbe referred to the Managing Director.
- Contributing to business performance with rigorous, evidence-based analysis of revenue.
- Implementing, developing and distribution of insightful reporting to understand sales performance.
- Cost control through monitoring, analysis and feedback to all employees within the company.
- Taking a key role in the production of budgets and forecasts. Monitoring of financial performance against budget and forecast. Analysing and reporting of variances. Ensuring budget holders have full understanding of their financial performance. Prepare Monthly/QuarterlyRevenue, analyse actuals vs forecast/budget.
- Develop and produce annual departmental budgets, to investigate variances against budgets and cash flow forecasts.
- Measurement of financial performance, forward budgeting and cash flow management.
- Supporting all staff by providing financial information to assist with project and budget management and supporting managers with their analysis of monthly financial reports
- Provide analytical support and financial leadership as needed to strategic and tactical activities such as product & service development, pricing & promotional analysis, product & service launches and contract renegotiations.
- Assisting with commercial sales activities including pricing, tender negotiations and contract renegotiations
- Financial accounting duties including month end close activities, which includes posting journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Ensuring financial and management accounts are completed within monthly deadlines.
- Managing balance sheet reconciliations, including payroll accounts, ensuring that financial controls are maintained.
- Management of company bank accounts for allocating budgets, supplier payments, and achieving savings.
- Management and development of the working relationship with external company accountants.
- Undertaking basic data entry and management of accounting software and systems where required.
**Requirements**:

- Qualified Accountant CIMA.
- Relevant qualification with 2+ years post qualification experience.
- Experience of working with senior management and ability to drive change and challenge decision making where necessary. Be able to demonstrate your ability to be a team player with examples of being a trusted advisor.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Strong communicator, influencer and ability to effectively use negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Track record of highly effective finance business partnering including ability to build good working relationships internally and externally.
- Experience in working in commercial profit and loss environment and responsible for partnering those responsible for performance delivery.
