Production Cook

Our client based in Simonswood, on the border or Merseyside and Lancashire are seeking a Production Cook to join our small and friendly team. The position is full time, working 40 hours per week, from Monday - Friday, on a rotating shift pattern working a week of days (6am - 3pm) then a week of late shifts (3pm - midnight).
The role is commutable from the Liverpool/Skelmersdale/St Helens/Wigan areas.
Overtime available paid at 1.5 times for any hours worked over the basic monthly minimum.
**Responsibilities**
The Production Cook is a highly respected part of our team. As a Production Cook, you are responsible for creating delicious sauces on an industrial scale ensuring the highest of standards for our customers who are some of the most well-known retailers in the UK food industry. We create sweet sauces for customers in the bakery, ice cream and confectionery markets.
To enjoy this role, and be successful in it, you will have significant experience working in a food production environment or an understanding of food regulations and compliance within a hands on role. You will prioritise safety and quality and be comfortable and capable to work with a high level of responsibility.
▪ Manufacturing confectionary sauces, from 300kg to 1000kg batches.
▪ Ensuring all CCP checks are completed and accurately recorded.
▪ Working with a high regard for food safety and health and safety procedures.
▪ Reporting and communicating incidences of non-conformances.
▪ Assisting in the investigation of non-conformances using root cause analysis.
▪ Maintaining GMP standards and completing hygiene auditing.
▪ Document control and the upkeep of the electronic SAP system.
▪ Working as part of a team to ensure service levels and other KPIs are achieved.
▪ Supporting and assisting on all new product launches.
▪ Have significant experience within food manufacturing or another relevant production environment/industry
▪ Be methodical and work with a high attention to detail
▪ Be a team player who can also work well cross-functionally
▪ Be flexible and adaptable responding to changing demands and business needs
▪ Have Level 2 Food Safety, Level 2 HACCP and Allergen awareness training; or can demonstrate knowledge of these procedures
▪ Be a confident user of computers and technology
▪ Have an understanding of or an interest in food science and the food industry

**Salary**: £12.48 per hour
