**How you'll make a difference**:
Turnaround is an exciting new initiative funded from the Ministry of Justice and provides funding to our Youth Offending Team to expand best practice in early intervention to improve outcomes for children on the cusp of entering the youth justice service. The aim of Turnaround is to achieve positive outcomes for children ultimately preventing them from going on to offend.

You will make a difference as a Youth Justice Worker preventing youth offending by providing an effective Youth Justice service to young people and their carers.

**What will you be doing?**
- You will work as lead practitioner and in partnership with colleagues from other agencies to plan and deliver services aimed at reducing and preventing youth crime.
- You will provide practical focussed interventions for young people (and their families) which may include working on their social skills, offending behaviour, and victim awareness.
- You will liaise with and advise social workers and other professionals on issues relating to youth crime and Harmful Sexual Behaviour.
- You may chair and participate in reviews, case conferences and other meetings, and provide reports as required.

**What we need from you**:

- You shall hold a professional qualification, NVQ4 or equivalent, or be willing to work towards a relevant professional qualification related to the provision of services to children and young people.
- You must be able to demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, processes, and procedures.
- You shall have an ability to supervise and allocate work to others, monitoring their performance and taking corrective action.
- You must have good interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships and engage successfully with colleagues, service users and partner organisations.

Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post
