Milestone Infrastructure is the UKs leading Highways Maintenance company looking after in excess of 24,000 miles of roads, 280,000 lighting assets and 20,000 miles of footways, always with a view to ensuring that all works are carried out as sustainably as possible and with mínimal impact to local communities.

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Senior Supervisor to work on our Oxfordshire contract in Drayton.

Primary responsibility will be to deliver all works assigned to you and the supervisors within the depot you are assigned to in a manner that meets or betters your targets, whilst undertaking these activities in a safe manner and to the required specification. Whilst assigned to a particular depot you may be required to attend other depots within the contract as well as supervise of both in-house and subcontracted works. You will programme your works to be delivered as per instruction from our Client/Manager and aligned with the requirements of the contract as instructed by the Area Manager.

You will actively support all supervisors across the contract and specifically in the depot you are assigned. As required for each scheme, you will support the supervisors in the delivery of a pre-works assessment to establish the safest and most commercially beneficial method of delivering the works.

Although aligned to one depot you will need to remain flexible to work across other depots and support the other supervisors to ensure a consistently high level of delivery across the business.

**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Continual focus on operational gross margins of all work that you are delivering. You will be empowered to take corrective action at any stage to ensure the best possible outcome
- Review with each supervisor the labour, plant, material, and specialist sub-contractor requirements for each works order
- Review with each supervisor the programme to monitor, review and hot cost against daily on specified software. Review costs and ASTA on a bi-weekly timeline with Area manager and Supervisors. Report progress at monthly finance meeting
- Liaise with County Council Officers and Inspectors as necessary in marking up and setting out of works and costing of works on specific activities as necessary
- Ensure the quality of all works delivered is to the required standard as briefed and required by law
- Review and support of daily update of all Resource Allocation Module (RAM) sheets for all resource including supply chain
- Guidance to supervisors and/or daily management as necessary of the gangs, setting work targets, resource programme to include training, annual leave, and fleet utilisation
- Guidance to supervisors and/or line management of Supervisor/direct report operatives in respect of Health & Safety compliance, training requirements, Occupational Health assessments, return to work management and completion of relevant forms when needed
- Undertake annual PDRs and mid-year review dealing with all issues that may arise, support Supervisors in undertaking PDRs and mid-year reviews
- Deliver Toolbox Talks (TBTs) and all briefings as requested to your teams/depot
- Support the Area Manager and supervisors with inducting and briefing the gangs prior to works starting to ensure time, quality and safety targets are communicated
- Lead and/or attend Supervisor meetings to share good practice with the wider team to ensure consistency of delivery across all depots and to improve overall performance
- Lead in operative recruitment and onboarding within the assigned depot
- Take ownership for safety, environmental and overall compliance for your depot including, but not limited to, relevant safety work, audits, depot improvements, etc
- Proactively communicate, support It Starts with Me (ISWM) activities events & briefings including campaigns
- Take a lead where necessary in other project campaigns as directed by project leaders
- Lead in the management of Winter or Out Of Hours works as required
- Mentor an Apprentice as necessary
- Flexible in all types of work including covering other supervisors works as appropriate

**Skills & Knowledge Requirements**:

- Full driver’s license
- A good level of experience in construction delivery and workforce supervision.
- Focused on delivering Health and Safety and Quality throughout the workplace
- Commercially driven to be able to capture working cost efficiencies, cost control and saving money wherever possible for the mutual benefit of the client and Milestone.
- Experience within the highway maintenance industry would be desirable with CSCS, NRSWA and SMSTS.
- NVQ Level 3 Supervision as a minimum (Training to be provided as required)
- Effective team management, leadership, motivational and influencing skills to get the best from everyone
- Excellent customer skills and the ability to demonstrate influencing in all situations.
