To provide clinical and managerial leadership, ensuring that action is taken at all levels to empower Nurses/Midwives/Allied Health Professionals in providing demonstrably high standards of care in a clean and safe environment. The post holder will be visible and recognisable to patients, relatives and staff and act as a champion for quality and equality of standards and patient care within the Trust. Act as lead nurse/AHP for the care of patients within their sphere of responsibility. To be responsible for the implementation, monitoring, training and audit of all infection prevention and control measures within areas of responsibility. To support service improvements and the management of risk and governance processes in Theatres and Ophthalmology.
- Manage services within designated scope of authority
- Manage change in work methods and practice that will improve the standards of care for patients
- Manage the use of physical resources in consultation with Clinical Nurse Leaders/Sisters/Charge Nurses, to ensure a cost-effective service is provided.
- Maintain and develop own competence and expertise. To act as a role model and always comply with the NMC / HPC statutory regulations.
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships to ensure a high standard of patient care.
- Facilitate meetings and provide information to support decision making.
