We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the new In Work Learning Coordination team, working in partnership with the Trade Union Congress (TUC) to support employed Londoners to upskill so they can progress in good work and lead happier, healthier lives.

The In-Work Learning team will be based within the Delivery team of the Skills and Employment Unit, working closely with the Mayor’s other skills and employment programmes. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a new programme of work and support in-work Londoners to thrive in their roles and chosen careers.

**Principal Accountabilities**:

- To lead on the development and implementation of initiatives to recruit, develop, and support Unionlearn Representatives (ULRs) to promote and encourage participation in in-work learning opportunities to Londoners employed within sectors key to the London’s recovery; including the Mayor’s skills programmes and other relevant skills training.
- To lead on the development of materials / assets to ensure Londoners employed within sectors key to the London’s recovery are aware of their rights and responsibilities within the workplace; Working closely with relevant GLA teams and the TUC to ensure wider skills priorities Union priorities are reflected.
- To lead on the development of materials / assets to ensure Londoners employed within sectors key to the London’s recovery are supported with their mental health and wellbeing; Working closely with relevant GLA teams and the TUC to ensure wider skills priorities Union priorities are reflected.
- Facilitate / attend union meetings relating to in-work learning to promote and encourage Londoners employed within sectors key to the London’s recovery to participate in in-work learning.
- To collate and disseminate examples of good practice and case studies demonstrating the benefits of in-work learning to support Londoners in to relevant in-work learning opportunities.
- To collate and disseminate TUC information / resources to ULRs to ensure they are apprised of the up-to-date Union offer and wider Union priorities so that in-work Londoners can be supported effectively
- To engage with officers across the GLA to ensure a joined-up approach to delivering skills priorities.
- Provide clear and accurate performance reports and timely and accurate project performance data against agreed Key Performance Indicators so that the progress of the intervention can be monitored and reported to Senior Management.
- To lead on liaising with the TUC’s and GLA’s Communications and Press teams to demonstrate the impact of the Unionlearn intervention through pan-London and local PR coverage.
- To realise the benefits of London’s diversity by promoting and enabling equality of opportunity and promote the diverse needs and aspirations of London’s communities among businesses and stakeholders.

**Technical requirements/experience/qualifications**:

- Experience of working for, or alongside Unions on skills and employment issues.
- A good understanding of National and Regional skills policy / landscape.
- Good presentation skills including ability to communicate complex information in readily understood terms to a wide variety of audiences.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including an ability to build and manage influential and effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
