Patient Care Assistant

The Ralph is an independent multidisciplinary specialist referral centre for dogs and cats. Our hospital is in Marlow, Bucks, west of London. It is just off the A404, with easy access from the M4 and M40 motorways.

We have opportunities available in both our Day and Night Patient Care Assistant (PCA) teams. So whether you would like to work days or prefer working at night when the hospital is quieter and there is more time to focus on caring for patients, we have an opportunity

PCAs at The Ralph rotate through all departments within the hospital. You will also work alongside the Medicine and Oncology services and assist with daily pet carer consultations.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Assisting the vets and nurses with patient care
- Walking, feeding, cleaning and looking after the patients in our Dog wards, Cat ward and ICU
- Assisting the Theatre team with daily workflow, including preoperative patient preparation and infection control measures
- Stock management
- Cleanliness, tidiness and maintenance of clinical areas
- Generally helping as and where needed

Please note that the Day PCA rota includes working early shifts, late shifts and weekends, and the occasional night shift.

**Benefits**:

- Day salary range: £21,175-22,675.
- Night salary range: £22,657-24,262.
- The Ralph is a National Living Wage payer.
- The Ralph will also pay for you to undertake a Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) training course. This is a compulsory requirement of the PCA role to further develop your skillset by providing the necessary clinical knowledge.

**Salary**: £21,175.00-£24,262.00 per year
