My client is a UK based, industry-leader in their field. Established in 1972 and now in their third generation, this family run company has grown into a team of more than 70 and now have an opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant to join them.

Working within the Purchasing Department, the role will consist of placing purchase orders, expediting, updating correct information onto the system and all other admin duties.

The role will be looking after imports, so you will be dealing with suppliers from all around the world - USA, Europe and the Far East, experience would be beneficial, but on-the-job training will be provided.

Key tasks will include:
Placing purchase orders each day
Checking off supplier Order Acknowledgements / Confirmations
Expediting all outstanding order lines
Update system with accurate data
Work with the Category Buyer / Purchasing Manager with any supplier queries - deliveries / pricing / etc
Dealing with imports - arranging shipments from outside the UK
