Conveyancing Paralegal - Wandsworth

TSR Legal have an exciting opportunity for a paralegal who has specific residential conveyancing experience, and those who are looking to take their first step into a legal role with a keen interest in pursuing a legal career.

The Role:

- Working closely with fee earner and assisting on files
- Undertaking chargeable work under close supervision
- Responding to correspondence as directed
- Being able to use initiative to progress conveyancing transactions and to take responsibility for certain key elements.
- Carrying out research on PLC/LexisNexis and presenting findings
- Organising events and tasks for fee earner
- Sitting in on conference/zoom calls taking notes and preparing attendance notes
- Undertaking KYC in line with the firms Anti-Money Laundering and other file opening procedures
- General administration including handling correspondence, scanning and diary management
- Preparation of accurate completion statements
- Preparation of Stamp Duty Land Tax Form and Land Transaction Tax Forms for both freehold and leasehold
- Familiarity with leasehold transactions preferred but training will be provided, and duties to include liaising with Freeholder and Management Company for leaseholder packs and dealing with Notices post completion.
- Assisting with the preparation of contract packs, search reports, mortgage reports and dealing with exchange of contracts and completion of matters under supervision;
- Assisting with secured lending work, including the sending of all initial documentation;
- Obtaining Land Registry documents and dealing with Land Registry issues;
- Dealing with all post completion matters including SDLT and Land Registration;
- Assisting with exchanges and completions in respect of residential matters;
- Liaising with estate agents and general telephone queries for residential matters;
- Assisting with fee earner’s business development and marketing, including arranging and attending meetings and events, and preparing brochures for promotion;
- Time-recording

**Person Specification**
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail
- Able to evidence ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload
- Experienced user of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Good typing skills - touch typing preferred
- Excellent time management, organisational and administrative skills
- Team player but self-motivated and able to work autonomously
- Ability to adapt quickly to the demands of an ever-changing caseload on a daily basis.
- Recognition of the importance of accurate electronic filing systems and maintaining such systems
- Numeracy skills and ability to prepare and check invoices
- Exceptional presentation and problem solving skills
- Proven multi-tasker with the ability to demonstrate the ongoing use of initiative
- Experience delivering against short deadlines
- Being able to work efficiently, effectively and enthusiastically
- Being keen to develop learning to broaden knowledge and increase potential
