**Salary: £32,243.84 (Term Time £27,655.23)**

**Hours: 37.50 hrs per week (5 days), 52 weeks.**

Camphill Wakefield is a specialist further education (F.E) college, based on a 34-acre site providing further education and training via study programmes to young adults with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. This includes an adult social care day service provision for those with learning difficulties and disabilities. We provide a range of life skills and employability pathways to meet our SEND students’ needs.

The Safeguarding Officer will take the lead responsibility for safeguarding of vulnerable adults and child across Camphill’s Education and Care facilities.
- You will oversee the reporting and investigation of all safeguarding concerns via the CPOMS platform, assess the level of support or intervention needed and communicate this to the Senior DSL and Senior managers via monthly reports.
- You will take part in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings and contribute to the assessment of vulnerable adults and children when required and work alongside our in-house Assistant Psychologist to monitor Positive Behaviour support plans and how these are used to keep our students safe.
- You will train, advise and support other members of staff on child welfare, safeguarding of vulnerable adults and child protection matters, and liaise with relevant agencies such as the local authority and police where required.
- A Level 2 Safeguarding qualification.
- A recognised qualification in at least one area of expertise in safeguarding, health and care to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or substantial experience
- Excellent organisational, communication, reflective and problem-solving skills with the ability to use their own initiative and work proactively both in a team and independently.
- An ability to communicate professionally and effectively at all levels.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters relating to the Charity, College, Students, parents or carers in line with the Data Protection Act.
