An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and well motivated individual to work with the Business Informatics Data Quality Team as a Data Quality Officer. The role will have a focus on identifying and resolving data quality issues within our Patient Administration Systems Lorenzo and Careflow that will impact our new EPR Data Migration.

You will have extensive experience in working with Lorenzo and/or Careflow, experience of additional clinical systems is desirable. Internal applicants currently employed by ESNEFT will be offered on a secondment basis only.

Although you will be required to mainly work remotely there will be an expectation to come onto Ipswich/Colchester Site if required

You will be responsible for supporting the Data Quality Team to improve and maintain the data held on the Trust’s Patient Administration Systems.

You will assist in regular checks of completeness and validity for key fields identified as a priority for the EPR data migration.

**Responsibilities**:
Data Quality
- The postholder will validate NHS numbers, registered GP’s, addresses, postcodes and other key demographics by interrogating multiple systems and reports using the Summary Care Record (SCR) and update the Patient Administration System (PAS) where necessary.
- Investigate multiple entries on PAS, SCR or Open Exeter and be able to interpret which is an accurate record of activity and demographics for a patient.
- The post holder will identify trends and assess common themes and refer the outcomes to senior members of the data improvement team.
- The post holder will look to use their own judgement to resolve data improvement issues.
- Investigate routine data improvement enquiries/queries from staff and provides assistance and advice as required.
- To update the Patient Administration System (PAS) with all deceased patients as per tracing systems, and communications from GPs.
- To assist with work to improve Data Quality including work to ensure that the Trust achieve at least the minimum level 2 requirement for the Information Governance Toolkit (IGT)
- To highlight potential duplicate registrations to the Health Records Team Leaders to allow them to merge physical health records and PAS records, and merge records where possible.
- To be able to work without supervision, but follow local and Trust policies and procedures and feel confident to seek advice when needed and provide comment when asked on development of data improvement documentation.
- Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times in line with the Data Protection and Information Governance procedures.
- Be responsible for the proper and safe use of Connecting for Health (CfH) smartcard to access patient information.
- Be an active member of the data improvement team.
