**About Styrrup hall Golf and Country Club**

Styrrup Hall Golf and Country Club is set in 150 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds close to the boundary of South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire. The club house has a reputable bar and restaurant which is open 7 days a week (Seventy-one restaurant) as well as a newly bult Members lounge (The 19th Hole). There is also a beautiful Banqueting Room which is available for Wedding Receptions, Birthday Celebrations, Christenings and other significant themed events.

Styrrup Hall Golf and Country Club now part of the BHI Group has recently undergone a significant upgrade and investment and we now look to appoint an experiences Head Green Keeper.

**Key Responsibilities**

The Head Greenkeeper is accountable for the general management and maintenance of the golf course, driving range and any other outdoor recreational areas, ensuring the greens are kept in peak condition. This role requires effective leadership skills, vast knowledge of turf management and the ability to successfully manage a dedicated team.

**Greens/Course Management**
- To assist in the planning and implementation of general course maintenance and improvement projects.
- Implement and oversee all aspects of turf maintenance, including mowing, watering, fertilization, and pest/weed control.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive maintenance schedule to ensure the course is in top condition year-round.
- Monitor weather conditions and adjust maintenance practices accordingly.
- Work with the Golf Operations Manager to make sure all members and guests are kept up to date with course progress and plans.
- Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in environmentally friendly groundskeeping techniques.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices for equipment operation.
- Maintain and oversee the operation of all groundskeeping equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and properly utilized.

**Team Management**
- Lead, motivate, and train a team of groundskeepers to perform their duties efficiently and effectively.
- Lead and supervise the greenkeeping team in the day to day set up of golf course and inform members of any changes to course playability.
- To plan and implement weekly work schedules, holidays, timesheets etc ensuring that sufficient staffing levels are maintained and scheduled work is carried out effectively.
- Establish and regularly update supplier contacts to ensure the club receives the best quality and cost-effective goods and services for its course maintenance.

**Attributes & Experience**
- Previous 5 years golf course management or deputy role experience required.
- PA1, PA2, PA6 spraying certificates would be an advantage.
- Chainsaw qualifications would be an advantage.
- NVQ level 2 minimum
- Basic irrigation knowledge and repair skills
- Spraying certification
- Maintain a working fleet of machinery.
- Able to work within an agreed budget.
- Have a good understanding of current Health and safety in the workplace.
- Desire to continue to improve own knowledge and skill base.
- Good communication skills with a passion for delivering top quality service.
- Ability to work in a face paced environment.
- Flexible and co-operative
