Hygiene Operative

**What you'll be doing**
- Ensuring appropriate signage is used for areas where cleaning is being undertaken, proactively working to ensure the avoidance of slips, trips etc
- Carrying out environmental cleaning as required (floors, doors, walls etc.,) ensuring the use of suitable equipment and chemicals, in line with the health & safety procedures and safe systems of work.
- Cleaning MHE
- Emptying bins
- Ensuring that broken pallets are removed from the working area and disposed of appropriately
- Ensuring that the correct PPE is worn in adherence with the risk assessments for the tasks involved
- Ensuring that the warehouse and bay areas are kept clear of debris
- Ensuring the correct procedure is adhered to for decanting and storage of all chemicals required in carrying out cleaning duties.
- Liaising with Hygiene supervisor for full skips to be exchanged
- Litter picking around site
- Loading and unloading pallets
- Operating cardboard bailer
- Operating compactor
- Cleaning canteens, changing rooms, toilets, communal and staff welfare areas.
- Painting
- Carrying out cleaning duties in the zone, around the yard and surrounding areas as required, helping to promote a _‘clean as you go’ _work ethic
- Working to ensure the timely removal of all un-used packaging and appropriate disposal (recycle as appropriate)

**What you'll need**
- Previous cleaning experience (essential)
- An enthusiastic and proactive approach towards tasks
- People who are self-motivated with the ability to work both on their own initiative and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skill
- The ability to prioritise workload effectively in a fast-paced environment

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £10.42 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
