Funeral Operative

Cadman Funeral Services Ltd comprises of three branches: Wade’s Funeral Service at Thorne, A Fletcher & Sons at Goole and Bullement Funeral Service at Howden. We have been serving the local area with our services for over one hundred years and commend ourselves with providing a sensitive, professional service to families and their loved ones in our care.

We are looking for a full-time Funeral Operative to join our small friendly team primarily based at the Goole branch but you will be required to assist at each office as and when required to cover holidays and absences.

Previous experience is preferable but not essential. You must be smart, empathetic well-presented and professional at all times, be physically fit (able to lift and carry heavy weights), be flexible and adaptable and hold a full UK driving licence (essential).

Duties include:
Collection of deceased from hospital, private homes and care homes

Driving and cleaning vehicles

Preparing the deceased ready for the Chapel of Rest

Fitting coffins with furniture and interior fittings

Bearing at funeral services

Chapel of Rest visits including out of hours

Have to take part in the on-call rota (out of hours including week nights, alternate weekends and some bank holidays)

The post is permanent full-time (Monday-Friday 8.00-16.30 plus on-call including two nights per week, alternate weekends and some bank holidays)

**Salary**: From £10.42 per hour

Common surfaces are sanitised regularly, including vehicles. Full Covid-19 vaccinations are essential.
