The Role

Working within the Fleet Technical Operations team the role is in support of the provision, coordination, management and delivery of Electrical & Electronic expertise and operational support to the CUK fleet.

The role will work closely with ship staff, Superintendents and Ship Managers to ensure requirements are prioritized to deliver high levels of availability and meet the overall asset management strategy of the business in the area of Electrical & Electronic engineering.

Overview:

- Availability and performance of Fleet Electrical and Electronic equipment including but not limited to LV Generation and Distribution, Lighting system, UPS, CCTV system, Lifts, Navigation, Communication and Safety systems.
- To act as part of the team providing technical expertise for Electrical and Electronic engineering in support of the ship management team.
- Review and analysis of on board technical planned maintenance, risk assessments, incident and issues within area of expertise with a focus of identifying roots cause and formulating long term strategy for asset management.
- Working with the supply chain, as required, to ensure that the required spare parts and /or services are provided in a timely manner, at a cost-effective price and to the company’s agreed purchasing and logistic procedure.
- Continuous review for improvement and implementation of asset management plans within areas of responsibility.
- Assist on technical follow up and closure of incidents, audit items, ship management report finding, non-conformance and marine casualty report related to their areas of technical expertise in relation to asset failures.
- Submitting periodical updates on ship equipment and systems condition and performance with a major focus on areas of high risk.

Projects & Refits
- Manage and deliver Corporate and CUK projects and initiatives as assigned, ensuring comprehensive completion and formal handover to ship managers and ship crew.
- Assist the planning, preparation, project management and follow up for area of responsibility, preparing specification of works for commercial tender, liaison with CUK procurement team and contractors during tender process to completion of works to a satisfactory standard.

Our role categories range from CUK15 (entry level) to CUK1 (Brand President) so you can clearly see internal development opportunities. This role is a CUK09 and is offered on a full time, permanent contract basis, with at least two days based in our Southampton office.

- Qualification in a suitable Electrical/Electronic discipline
- Knowledge of Maritime Electrical engineering practice
- Knowledge and experience of safe working practices
- Knowledge of regulations related to Electrical and Maritime practice
