Pts Call Handler

**Job Description**:
PTS Call Handler - Scottish Ambulance Service, Inverness

- Starting 24th April 2023 - must be available to start on this date- Temporary ongoing contract- £12.23ph - £21.28ph dependant on shifts worked- This is a fast-paced environment with calls being received 24 hours a day 7 days per week. Successful applicants will be expected to work 5 days out of 7 on various shifts including dayshift, backshift, nightshift and weekends.- Location - Laxford House, Inverness- Full training provided for 2 weeks - all successful applicants must be available to attend training Monday-Friday 09:30-17:30, moving on to a relief shift pattern thereafter**Key Responsibilities**:

- Receive SAS led call handing training to facilitate Health Care Profession calls and calls from Patients/Representatives requiring to book the Patient Transport Service- First point of contact for both patients and healthcare professionals making transport booking arrangements- Keeping the caller calm to get valuable information- Finding out accurate details to determine the nature of the call and location- Providing reassurance and support to callers whilst emergency services are dispatched- Logging all information from the call on to the system accurately**Essential Skills**:

- Be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment- Be able to remain calm under pressure and provide reassurance to callers- Be resilient in approach- Be flexible in your approach to days/hours of work- Have great listening skills- Be a strong communicator- Have strong IT skills including quick typing and accuracy skills- Be compassionate and empathetic- Have Critical thinking skills and decision making- Be able to work as part of a teamDue to the nature of work, you must also be able to pass a Disclosure Scotland check.
