Job Introduction

As a **Domestic Assistant / Ward Assistant **at Sodexo **Royal Stoke University Hospital, Newcastle-under-Lyme,** you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and hygienic environment within the hospital. You will play a key role in preventing the spread of infection and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our patients, staff, and visitors. Join Sodexo and be part of something greater. **What you’ll do**:

- Maintain patient safety by keeping their rooms, wards, communal areas, restrooms, and other hospital areas clean.
- Clean desks, ceilings and vents, walls, blinds, and other surfaces to create a sterile, safe environment.
- Dust, mop, vacuum, sweep, polish floors, and replenish supplies
- Emptying bins and waste containers
- Support ward staff in ensuring ward is clean, hygienic and tidy
- Some support may be required for ward staff in administrative / clerical duties
- Ensure patients lockers and bed side areas are kept clean and tidy
- Assist in ordering and maintenance of ward stock and ensuring supplies are at the predetermined level
- Represent the ward in a friendly and welcoming manner
- Actively champion a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff

Package Description
- **26.25 **hours per week
- **Working**: 4 on 4 off - 7.5 hour shifts
