It is an exciting time to be joining the Mayoral Combined Authority. We have a wide variety of exciting projects that we are working on which will help shape the West Yorkshire region.

In 2021 the £1.8bn devolution deal was secured for West Yorkshire. This meant the first Mayor of West Yorkshire was subsequently elected, with Tracy Brabin taking up post in May 2021. The devolution deal and election of the Mayor has enabled us to start to drive up living standards for local communities while tackling the climate emergency and helping to deliver our commitment to become a net zero carbon city region by 2038.

We currently have a vacancy for two **Procurement & Contracts Officers** to join our **Commercial** team.

**The Role**:
Reporting into the Commercial Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

- Delivery of a professional, best practice and compliant end to end procurement service, including strategic contract management for medium sized procurements/contracts as allocated and delegating for Commercial Manager and Commercial Category Lead where appropriate.
- Responsible for providing procurement and contract advice, guidance, and oversight across the Combined Authority with greater emphasis across operational and transactional procurements/contracts, adopting best practice methodologies.
- Responsible for the management, integration, maintenance, and design of procurement processes and where applicable of E-procurement systems to support the process.
- Ensuring compliance with contract standing orders, publication scheme and transparency obligations.

**About You**:
You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience:

- Educated to degree level, or equivalent relevant education/ experience.
- Practical experience of successfully performing in a similar role.
- Experience of working in a procurement or contract management function procuring a wide range of products, works and services.
- Knowledge of the public contracts regulations 2015 or similar.
- Experience of effectively contributing to team objectives.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to convey information confidently and professionally, both in writing and orally in a clear, concise, and persuasive style.
